This was an interesting project as it was a spec house bring built by a developer to be sold. This is a trend that we have noticed over the past few years, property developers are starting to not overlook vital value-add services in homes such as home automation to assist in the resale process.We integrated all services in this home into an easy-to-use, simple platform using Control4. This was a spec house which was designed with the ultimate buyer in mind. We were given free reign to design a comprehensive electrical reticulation to allow almost any future upgrades and full automation integration ability among all services in the home. It was great working with all teams on this project as everyone had the same level of passion. Special thanks to Rashaad from Berman Brothers and everyone at the Jenny Mills Architecture team. We were (almost) given a blank canvas for this job. When building a completely bespoke hand built house like this, it was a treat for the client to put full trust in Simpletech’s hands and afforded us the opportunity to spec the solutions that we felt were appropriate for their new home. This is a home with a history and great bones, most of the rest, specifically the previous automation and AV system was all thrown out to bring this home up to standard and ensure the experience was luxurious and seamless. I think it’s safe to say that this was one of the most exciting projects that we’ve worked on. The client was a lover of audio and technology almost as much as we are, which made working on the project a very enjoyable process. This house had it all! Sound in every corner of the house, lighting control, audiophile grade B&W Diamond Series surround and stereo sound systems, two club-grade JBL PA entertainment systems, enterprise quality Ruckus WiFi equipment, internal IP PABX, and the list goes on… It was an honour to be involved in this project. ...
